ALQIMI is currently seeking a Junior Test Designer to join its AOSEN development, engineering and operations team at Two Horizon Center in Gurugram.  AOSEN is the ALQIMI Open Standards Environment - a big data platform developed by ALQIMI as a complete end-to-end, system of- systems capable of open source data collections, all-source data fusion, analytics, artificial intelligence, visualizations and more. Successful implementations of AOSEN and AOSEN-powered applications have taken place with the United States Air Force, Shady Grove Fertility Clinic, IBM, Janes, and Bajaj Capital. AOSEN is based on open source technologies and the belief that the primary building blocks of a powerful big data platform should be developed internally. The selected candidate will be part of a 30+ person team of engineers, developers, analysts and scientists in Gurugram, India and Washington, DC, USA.  

Responsibilities
•    Maintains an expert-level understanding of our products in order to most effectively probe for problems.
•    Analyzes functional and technical requirements and translates them into manual and/or automatable test scenarios.
•    Works closely with Test lead to ensure high-quality and proper acceptance criteria.
•    Uses a creative, adversarial, detail-oriented approach to aggressively test our products in order to identify issues.
•    Develops and executes formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Exercises complete test coverage of all areas of risk on a product.
•    Oversees the writing of test cases and scripts. Testing may include application, network, system, regression and user acceptance testing. Provides ownership and accountability for assigned testing, keeping aware of progress and risks per milestone.
•    Participates in daily calls as needed for appropriate discussion of test planning, testing status, quality review sessions, defect discussion and general management of testing phase. 
•    Communicates frequently and effectively with developers and team members regarding test results.
•    Uses testing best practices to identify practices within Agile teams that do not contribute to their efficiency and overall success.
•    Demonstrates a strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies and dependencies.

MUST HAVE Qualifications
•    B.S. Degree in computer science, information systems, or related area, or equivalent work experience.
•    2+ years’ experience in professional software testing and testing of web-based applications.
•    Experience with software test tools (e.g., Selenium, TestingWhiz, TestComplete, ToscaTestsuite, etc.), defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA), variety of operating systems and application platforms, manual and automated software test processes and tools, software development life cycles and methodologies, and experience in writing of test scripts.
•    Experience with test automation scripting and execution in replacement of manual testing using an OOP language (Java, Ruby, Python, C#, etc.).
•    Good hands-on of browser-based debugging tools (Chrome Developer Tools, Firebug, etc.).
•    Experience with client-side MVC Frameworks and HTML5/JavaScript/Angular/CSS.
•    Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
•    Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Desired qualifications 
•    Basic understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies.
•    Working knowledge of Bitbucket, Jenkins, and crafting Continuous Integration pipelines
•    Experience with JIRA and other Atlassian tools (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
•    Experience with systems like Apache Spark, Apache Tomcat, Apache Kafka, Open Distro for Elasticsearch, Elasticsearch Kibana, Elasticsearch Logstash, AWS, PostgreSQL, Microservices architecture.
•    Basic understanding of client/server Web Services development, RESTful APIs.
