We are currently seeking an Oracle DBA to support our government customer.
This is a long term contract located in Arlington, VA.
Candidates must hold an active DOD level clearance at minimum Secret level.
- Experience working on Oracle 11g and 10g involving database administration, support, installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, migration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, cloning, space management and security.
- Develop and execute plan to apply Oracle upgrades, maintenance, and security patches
- Maintain optimum production environment
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Perform database tuning, performance monitoring, and capacity planning
- Perform analytical research of database architecture seeking areas of performance improvement
- Perform analysis and troubleshooting of queries, and provide recommendation for performance improvement
- Support data migrations and user administration
- Implement database changes and updates for application releases following established procedures
- Communicate with customer, server administrators, and developers
- Setup and maintain database documentation and standards
- Respond to problems quickly, determine root cause, and document and recommend corrective action
- Provide any additional assistance, as required
II. Requirements
- At minimum seven years, experience as a Oracle DBA in large production environments
- Experience and focus on database performance
- Experience with Oracle Grid Control, installation, configuration, alerts, performance reporting, and maintenance
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Oracle security management, Oracle Advanced Security
- Ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning techniques
- Must be highly motivated, self starter, thinks independently, and seeks continuous improvement
- Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills
- US Citizenship and active DOD Clearance, at minimum Secret Level.
